As part of my daily routine, Aloe Vera is a major contributor.
Most people carry around hand sanitizers or hand cream, where I carry Aloe Vera Gel. It is a peculiar plant, in the same family as lilies, onions and garlic! It’s very beneficial to us with its 200+ active parts, involving vitamins A, C & E, minerals like Calcium and Magnesium and many fatty acid sugars.
I personally use pure Aloe Vera gel everyday on my skin; this encourages soothing and healing of broken or irritated skin. When I was younger I suffered with dry skin, this gel rejuvenated and moisturised my skins inner layers by its high emollient nature. It improved my skin drastically, improved its flexibility and reduced inflammation. I would definitely recommend it for patients suffering with sunburns, eczema, psoriasis, arthritis and even soothes bites and burns.
Aloe Vera gel is available in many stores, such as Boots, Superdrug, Holland and Barrett and even most pharmacies. Depending on its purity and volume, prices range from £3.00 to £7.00.
The gel can be applied like any other moisturiser all over the body for over all protection or applied in minimal amounts onto affected areas. The gel penetrates into the skin layers and doesn't leave any greasy feel or deposits, which is always desired.
Aloe Vera can be used for a wide range of cosmetic uses such as, prevention of scars, stretches, pimples or acne. This is particularly useful for teenagers or students prone to spots or not exfoliating skin as often. Aloe Vera also brightens and softens the skin by reducing pigmentation. Its anti-wrinkle function maintains the skin and Aloe Vera contains B-Sisterole that reduces inflammation along its collagen and elastin repair.
Aloe Vera can also aid digestion via drinking as it cleanses and detoxifies the digestive system. Its adaptogen properties regulate the digestive system and helps with constipation and diarrhoea. I personally, drink Aloe Vera juice twice a day as it reduces bacteria and eliminates bloating. It can also reduce blood sugar levels which is especially beneficial for diabetics. Drinking Aloe Vera juice can also help stomach ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome.
Other uses of Aloe Vera are:
Aloe Vera oil can be rubbed into the scalp to reduce itchiness and soothe the hair follicles to reduce the inflammation. It can also be massaged into the hair as a conditioner with Coconut oil and Neem puree for silkier hair.
Aloe Vera toothpaste can relieve inflamed gums and strengthen gums and teeth. Toothpastes can be found from many drug and health stores.
Aloe Vera oil can be boiled and the vapours breathed in, to also relieve inflammation of the bronchiole smooth muscle that becomes inflamed and constricted in asthmatic patients.
A facial or body scrub can also be formed to exfoliate and rejuvenate skin. For a facial scrub: Brown Sugar, Lemon Juice, Aloe Vera and fresh extracts of fresh fruit such as berries or avocado. For a more penetrating body scrub: Sea Salt, Aloe Vera, Coconut Milk, Honey and fresh Lavender extracts will exfoliate and remove dead cells leaving the skin feeling fresh, smooth and even.

I love this gel and I use it daily as part of my morning and night routine. I have noticed my skin to be more clearer and brighter, with no dark circles around the eyes or pigmentation on the face.
I usually leave the gel to set on my face during the night for that extra effect. I usually use this as a base for my make-up as it leaves the skin smooth, dry and also gives my skin that fresh feel and look.
